Re: Lesson reflection 060808

Today's lessons was mainly about how ICT can be used for engaging student's learning. It was interesting as the teacher made it know that engaged learning not a one time off thing, but rather an on going processs which needed time to build up on it.
Similarities between the examples of how different groups define an engaging lessons also highlighted several key points that we as teachers can take note of. This was further emphasised by used of the website which allowed use to measure and indicate our own engaged learning class. It really allowed me to look much deeper into how to better my teaching and how to look into customising my lessons to be student centered in the future.

The prof also pointed about the need to 'take a step back' and look at the lesson in terms of a teacher rather than always being a student. This really allowed me to better understand what goes through the mind of the teacher as he prepare and present the lesson. It also makes me understand how to design my lessons in the future.

Other pointers
- Groups = more ideas
- Individual = self accountability
- Prior knowledge of a certain topic, and how teacher are to build upon that to allow the students to understand more.
- Qns can be used a scaffolding in a lesson
- Websites can be a useful and good source of resourses

cheers =)
